Assessment
Assess role-specific decision patterns in about 45 minutes.
Most hiring assessments ask everyone the same questions. A nurse, a billing specialist, and a facilities tech do not make the same decisions — so one generic test cannot tell you who fits which role. Cognicit assesses people against the actual decision demands of their position.
Built around the job, not around a quiz
The “How I Behave” assessment takes about 45 minutes and is built around realistic work scenarios for 200+ healthcare roles. It profiles how a person works, how they decide under pressure, and how they interact with a team — then maps those patterns to what the role requires.
- Work style — Big Five profiles calibrated to U.S. Department of Labor norms and anchored to the O*NET occupational database.
- Decision patterns — twelve decision-making patterns scored against each role's risk profile, including the biases that create risk in that role.
- Interaction style — how they collaborate, communicate, and handle conflict on a team.
- Role fit — success looks different in every role: an optimal lab technician is nothing like an optimal ER nurse. Cognicit measures the fit and reports actionable improvement steps.
Useful to the employee, not just the file
Every assessment produces a personal impact profile: work-style strengths, a mapping of their patterns to CAHPS domains where relevant, and a focused development roadmap. Growth plans span five dimensions — Work Ethic, Empathy & Care, Communication Style, Creativity & Innovation, Stress Management — in plain language, no psychometric jargon. Matched alternate forms allow re-assessment twice a year without practice effects.

What healthcare leaders ask us.
Is this a personality test people can fail?
No. There are no pass/fail scores. The output describes fit between a person's patterns and a role's demands — useful information for placement and development, not a verdict.
How is this different from the assessments we already use?
Most workplace assessments are role-generic. Cognicit's scenarios and scoring are built per position, across 200+ healthcare roles, so the results speak to the actual job.
What does it require from our IT team?
Almost nothing. The assessment runs in a browser. There is no on-premise install.
How do employees react to it?
They get a personal profile and growth plan out of it — something useful to them, not just a score that goes into a file.
